Cedar Leaf Oil Product Description

Our steam-distilled Cedar leaf oil is a natural essential oil extracted from the fresh leaves and twigs of Thuja occidentalis. Also known as Thuja oil, this potent aromatic extract is an excellent insect repellent. Cedar leaf oil offers prominent antibacterial properties making it a good fit for cleaning products. You will find cedar leaf (Thuja) oil mentioned in various herbal remedies and spiritual rituals.

Cedar leaf oil comes from multiple variants the one in Japan being the best in terms of antibacterial and aromatic profile. The aroma profile of cedar leaf oil is mostly green, fresh, leafy, and sharp with some woody notes. It has a base note and smells like a spa day. Cedar leaf oil also smells a little herbaceous and is an interesting essential oil for perfumes. But use only a few drops of thuja oil because the strength of the aroma is extremely strong.

You can use cedar leaf oil for aromatherapy, perfumery soap making, and candle making. Our experts recommend avoiding using cedar leaf for skin as it can be highly sensitizing. Don't confuse cedar leaf (Thuja) essential oil with Eucalyptus oil aroma as they can be quite similar in scent but differ greatly in terms of properties and health benefits.

Thuja occidentalis belongs to the Cupressaceae family of species and was native to North America and Canada. Today you will find cedar leaf (thuja) being cultivated in many more parts of the world including France.

Cedar or Thuja is a coniferous tree and doesn't grow very high. If you look closely, you will notice that the leaves are scaly and the branches resemble a fan. You shouldn't confuse cedar leaf oil with Red Cedar as they are both different plants, rather there are multiple species of cedar, all offering different benefits.

Feel free to use our natural cedar leaf oil as it is or blend it with other essential oils from Aromachology. We are one of the leading suppliers of essential oils like cedar leaf oil and many other absolute oils
